The Challenge
The Developer was looking for a Red Multi brick to use on this development. It had already been decided that one of the two bricks to be used on this site would be the Canterbury (an orange multi) and a red multi was needed to compliment this, but also one which would satisfy the planners requirement for a brick which would be sympathetic to the town’s rich history and contribute to the character of the conservation area. The site is in close proximity to the historic Saxon and medieval town centre, but is also surrounded by modern development.
The Solution
The handmade style texture of the Sagitta along with its darker and lighter multi tones ensured the site would reflect the variety of materials within the are. The darker tones within the brick a give a slightly weathered appearance which sits well with older weathered bricks nearby, whilst the lighter tones allow a harmonious composition with the Canterbury Multi. It was felt that the Sagitta would also contribute to a high quality finish to the plots.
